Here we are almost halfway through February with the expected Omicron surge beginning slowly and behind schedule.
HNCSA has been busy giving items to hospitals where HNC is treated. We’re trying to extend our patient packs to Dunedin, Waikato, and beyond while also donating useful items for patients and whanau. This includes taxi and petrol vouchers for Auckland. There’s no government travel assistance to people who have difficulty getting across the city for frequent appointments.
Topics on our Facebook forum often focus around food and swallowing and we’re trying to raise funds to donate more blenders to hospitals.
We also want to thank the local distributors of Oral 7 who send us their useful little sample packs. Oral 7 has released a new product too, a spray bottle that delivers a nice spritz to the dry mouth. Contact us if you have trouble buying these products.
Fundraising to replace money spent from last year’s generous donations is going to be difficult in 2022.
If you want to donate there is a Givealittle donation button on our homepage and our bank account number can be found under About Us.
Let’s hope our Omicron surge is smaller than expected and our hospital services stay on top of it for the sake of HNC patients and staff.
