Tomorrow is World Head and Neck Cancer Day, a time for us to advocate for early detection, prevention and UNDERSTANDING. We need our friends and family to understand how valuable they are to us during treatment. It’s how most of us get through. But for a sizable proportion of head and neck cancer survivors the eating and speaking difficulties and the changes to our appearance are a daily reminder of HNC. It doesn’t stop when the treatment stops.

We want people out there to know that no one needs to be alone. There are support groups online if there isn’t a face to face support group near you.

And where would we be without our treatment teams? The cancer removers and so much more!

Tomorrow the Auckland group is meeting at a stall to publicise head and neck cancer at Level 5 Auckland Hospital 9 am to 1pm. Thanks to the ORL department for the chance to fight for our cause.
